Product Review:

The Onix Composite Z5 paddle was the 2nd paddle I bought, and it was the right paddle at the right time for me.  At the time, I was looking to upgrade my game, and this paddle is an excellent choice if you want good ball control and are seeking more power from the baseline. The fiberglass face and total weight of 8.4-9.2 ounces provide me with the maximum power and pop I need to take my game to the next level.

The Z5 has a wider face (8.125”), which is perfect for beginners and intermediate players because of the large, sweet spot. The grip size circumference of 4.25" and a handle length of 5" make it easy to hold the paddle comfortably for your longer games and matches.

Coming in with a paddle length of 15.5" and a face of 8.125", I found that I could easily hit the ball over the net with better precision and accuracy. The Composite Z5 paddle also features a Nomex core and a Tennis handle shape, which are designed to give players maximum control and maneuverability during play.

I see many players with the Z5, and we usually agree that it has a very satisfying “thonk” sound when hitting the ball.  It’s like an exclamation point at the end of your shots!

The heavy weight of this paddle may not be for everyone, but it certainly gives a powerful return and offers a lot of pop.

Player Reviews and Comments

"All about that base. This thing is heavier than advertised. It weighs about the same as a plywood paddle. That said, it has great "pop" to it. I could hit consistent power shots from the baseline, and serving is smooth as butter."
"This paddle performs to the level of the player using it. This is probably the most popular paddle among PB players."
"This paddle is very fun to play with if you prefer an aggressive style of pickleball. As others have said, it is heavier than most other paddles, but the trade off is the sweet spot is larger."

Final Thoughts on the Onix Z5 Paddle

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with Onix Composite Z5paddle. It has given me the power and control I was looking for, and I would recommend this paddle to any player who is looking to improve their game and take their skills to the next level.
